The Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights is seeking dedicated volunteers to support immigrant children in need. As a Volunteer Child Advocate, you will play a vital role in promoting the best interests of unaccompanied and separated immigrant children.
Key Responsibilities:- Visit with the child each week and advocate for their best interests in collaboration with Young Center staff.
- Help the child think through options and decisions.
- Maintain regular communication with the Young Center staff.
- Complete all aspects of the Volunteer Child Advocate Training.
- Complete all parts of the Volunteer Child Advocate Application.
- Complete a screening call with the Volunteer Coordinator.
- Pass an FBI background check and child abuse/neglect check.
- Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to attending the training.
- Provide proof of negative tuberculosis (TB) result.
- Have reliable access to transportation.
