Behavioral Health Initiative Outreach Coordinator

The Behavioral Health Initiative Outreach Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Behavioral Health Initiative at Southern Oregon University. This position works collaboratively with various programs across the university to shepherd students through degree pathways, prepare them for careers in behavioral and mental health, and facilitate outward-facing professional development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development of programmatic systems and maintain programmatic details for BHI Programs.
- Assist with fiscal planning and tracking spending progress, monitoring activities for grant alignment.
- Meet with local and regional grant partners to plan and implement project goals.
- Plan events and professional development workshops and advise non-degree-seeking students on academic credit options.
- Craft and send timely programmatic communications to workshop and micro-credential participants.
- Act as a liaison between community instructors and SOU, handling irregular contract requests and travel reimbursements.
- Participate in writing project summaries and reports.
- Provide all support for scheduling, registration, and implementation of professional workshops.
- Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health or related field.
- Experience working with grants and external funding.
- Experience working in a university environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with external behavioral health partners.
- Demonstrated evidence of creative problem-solving skills.
- 2+ years of experience working in a higher education environment or for a behavioral health provider.
- 2+ years of experience working in grants and contracts.
The Behavioral Health Initiative Outreach Coordinator will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring excellent communication and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including students, faculty, and community partners. The position requires a high level of productivity and accuracy, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Demands- Normal office activities, including sitting/standing at a desk, using a computer, answering phones, and communicating in person.
- Must be willing to travel and attend training programs off-site for occasional professional development.
- Must be able to work additional hours and adjust working hours to meet special jobs.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
