Position Overview

We are in search of a Senior General Ledger Accountant responsible for overseeing all general ledger activities, including the preparation of financial statements, reconciliation schedules, and supporting external audits. This role is crucial in ensuring that our financial and operational reports accurately represent the company's status and provide reliable data for effective operations and system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Corporate Controller to manage month-end close processes, ensuring comprehensive documentation for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for various accounts, including inventory, prepaid assets, fixed assets, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Execute allocation entries for payroll, operational overhead, and benefits.
  • Oversee bank and credit card reconciliations in conjunction with the Accounts Payable team.
  • Engage in special projects as needed, including external audits, project costing, and tax preparations.
  • Assist in analyzing financial statements to provide insights.
  • Work closely with various departments to ensure accurate transaction recording and enforce internal controls.
  • Participate in the implementation of NetSuite, focusing on general ledger modules and recommending procedural improvements to align with accounting standards.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, particularly in inventory and job costing.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and experience with accounting software, preferably NetSuite.

  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP in a manufacturing context is essential.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
  • Positive, service-oriented mindset and a team player.
  • Aptitude for data analysis, interpretation, and making informed recommendations.
