Job Description

Hilltop Holdings is seeking a highly skilled Credit Quantitative Analyst to join its Risk Advisory department. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in assisting with the quality control function related to Allowance for Credit Loss (ACL). Your responsibilities will include supporting model runs and documentation, participating in UAT for model upgrades, and presenting to committees to ensure the quality of data used.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality control activities for ACL to ensure accuracy and reliability of data.
  • Collaborate with the ACL team to address quality control issues and provide expert guidance.
  • Develop and maintain a reputation as a credible and effective quality control professional.
  • Ensure adherence to ACL quality control procedures and maintain communication with internal contacts as needed.
  • Assist in researching economic and industry trends to inform recommendations for U.S. and regional economic forecasts.
  • Build and run data queries from multiple loan systems and prepare data for use in reports supporting periodic enterprise stress test exercises.
  • Support the drafting and preparation of ACL documentation, including attribution and materials for working groups, executives, and committees.
  • Engage with data governance partners to establish processes and procedures for maintaining data integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, data science, data analytics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • One to three years of analytical experience, with a broad-based knowledge of the banking industry and awareness of industry trends.
  • Experience with Moody's analytic products, such as CreditLens, is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to senior management.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks successfully.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing environment and work well under pressure.
