POSITION TITLE: Aerospace Structural Mechanic III

LOCATION: Savannah, GA

COMPENSATION: $28.75 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and fit detailed components and structures, executing drilling and riveting tasks while ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Adapt to new assignments with minimal disruption to production timelines.
  • Rivet structural elements and components using the necessary tools; remove fasteners without compromising structural integrity.
  • Interpret work orders, blueprints, and operational documents to ascertain the sequence, type, size, and pattern of rivets.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of all work for defects prior to final review.
  • Guide and assist team members with blueprints, drawings, and engineering directives; devise solutions to production challenges.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs, PCOs).
  • Align and assemble components utilizing jigs, fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.
  • Perform necessary repairs and rework to achieve conformity.
  • Uphold a tidy work environment, support the 5S & Lean Initiative Program, and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Operate independently with minimal oversight.
  • Provide assistance and instruction to fellow team members as required.
  • Engage in Lean activities to enhance efficiency.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 3 years of structural assembly experience.
  • Familiarity with Solumina and Smarteam is preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency and capability to read scales and perform fundamental shop mathematics.
  • Strong attention to detail, professional demeanor, and ability to meet stringent deadlines.
  • Proficient in interpreting and reading blueprints.
  • Skilled in precision work with knowledge of specialized tools and equipment.
  • Experience working with composite resins and materials.
  • Willingness to work any shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and maintain excellent housekeeping and safety practices.
