Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at Francis of Paola ELC in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure a comprehensive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess student needs and abilities, and develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that align with the New York State Prekindergarten Foundation for the Common Core Standards or New York State Common Core Standards.
  • Design and implement lesson plans that promote school readiness goals and reflect the objectives contained in IEPs.
  • Prepare daily schedules and lesson plans for each student, aligned with authentic assessment data and informed by behavioral approaches based on theories of applied behavioral analysis and/or TEACCH principles.
  • Participate in review meetings and update IEPs as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a comprehensive and supportive learning environment.
