Job Title: Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Public Preparatory Network. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work alongside General Education Teachers in Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classrooms to provide high-quality instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver instruction that addresses the learning needs of all students in your classroom.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective co-teaching strategies.
  • Use data to drive decision-making and inform instruction.
  • Provide authentic opportunities for students to process content and develop critical thinking skills.
  • Manage student behaviors and use mistakes as learning opportunities.
  • Hold high expectations for student effort, persistence, and quality of work.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • M.A., Ed.M, or master's degree in the relevant content area.
  • New York State Dual Certification in Special Education and General Education, preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated success as a full-time teacher, preferably in an ICT setting.
  • Demonstrated success working in a high-performing, urban school setting, preferred.
