As a Clinical Dietitian at WakeMed, you will use evidence-based research and nutrition-focused physical assessments to develop and implement nutrition interventions and monitor patient progress. You will evaluate the loss of specific muscles and subcutaneous body fat to determine the presence and degree of malnutrition. You will also demonstrate extensive knowledge of specialized nutrition support principles and practices, including electrolyte management.
Key responsibilities include safely and appropriately ordering macro- and micronutrients, fluid electrolytes, and medications for parenteral nutrition solutions. You will also participate in Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) efforts to ensure nutrition care is safe and effective. Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and patient conferences.
Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition, with a Master's degree preferred. You must be a Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist is also required.
Hours of work are days, with weekend and call requirements as needed.
