The Family Resource Center is a community-focused, culturally aware initiative dedicated to providing evidence-based parenting education, mentoring, and support services for children and families. Our mission includes addressing the needs of children facing significant challenges at home and in educational settings.

We are actively seeking a Full-Time (40 hours per week) Educational Support Coordinator for our Family Resource Center. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5 PM, with occasional evening hours and one Saturday each month. Flexibility in hours is available to meet the needs of families.

The Educational Support Coordinator collaborates closely with local educational institutions to assist families in navigating school-related challenges and to identify those in need of additional support services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a resource for families, schools, and the community to enhance student attendance and graduation rates, decrease truancy, and identify systemic barriers and trends.
  • Connect families experiencing educational challenges with appropriate services tailored to their unique needs, ensuring a streamlined process for information and referral.
  • Organize and facilitate special events and inter-agency collaborations involving schools.
  • Support families with school-aged children in various areas, including meetings with educators, assistance in obtaining Individual Education Plans, and collaboration with school staff as needed.
  • Lead Family Resource Center parenting, family, and youth groups.
A high school diploma or GED with 2-4 years of relevant experience is required; an associate's degree is preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities, are essential.
