Job Title: Adjunct Instructor, Radiologic Technology Program
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach radiologic technology courses at Joliet Junior College. The successful candidate will have a strong background in radiologic technology and the ability to adapt to new and changing situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach introductory and advanced classes, including practicum, in radiologic technology.
- Participate in course development, assessment, accreditation, and planning activities.
- Regularly meet with Program Coordinator to discuss student progression.
- Attend meetings and events related to the program, such as New Student Orientation and the RADT Advisory Committee meetings.
- Be willing to teach face-to-face, online, and/or blended courses.
- Participate in departmental meetings.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and learning as well as to the achievement of the program's goals and outcomes.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding and commitment to the community college mission.
- Possess and maintain a thorough knowledge of the subject matter necessary to the assigned course load.
- Teach classes during non-traditional times (evenings and weekends) and at clinical and other campus sites as needed.
- Meet other contractual obligations as spelled out in the Joliet Junior College adjunct faculty contract.
Requirements:
- Possess a minimum of an associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related discipline.
- Have at least three (3) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Be current and active ARRT (R).
- Have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a related discipline.
- Teaching experience at the collegiate level.
- Experience with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds.
- English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
Working Conditions:
The employee will work in a classroom, skills lab, and simulation teaching environment, as well as clinical/hospital units.
