Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty Member to teach in our Radiologic Technology Program at Joliet Junior College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching introductory and advanced classes, including practicum, in radiologic technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach radiologic technology courses, including introductory and advanced classes, and practicum
  • Participate in course development, assessment, accreditation, and planning activities
  • Meet with Program Coordinator to discuss student progression
  • Attend departmental meetings and events related to the program
  • Teach face-to-face, online, and/or blended courses
  • Participate in departmental meetings and events
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and learning, as well as to the achievement of the program's goals and outcomes
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding and commitment to the community college mission
  • Teach classes during non-traditional times (evenings and weekends) and at clinical and other campus sites as needed
  • Meet other contractual obligations as spelled out in the Joliet Junior College adjunct faculty contract
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Possess a minimum of an associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related discipline
  • At least three (3) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Current and active ARRT (R)
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community
  • Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a related discipline
  • Teaching experience at the collegiate level
  • Experience with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds
  • English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency
  • Demonstrated multicultural competence

Working Conditions:
