We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Manager to join our Student Affairs Administration and Finance team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and management of the division's budget, as well as providing strategic planning and analysis support to divisional leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and manage the division's annual budget, including budget development, financial management, and forecasting.
- Strategic Planning and Analysis: Assist divisional leadership in assessing and developing revenues and expenditures, creating financial models and methods to support budget and financial management.
- Variance and Compliance Reporting: Provide timely variance reporting on all funding sources and offer insights to support informed decision-making.
- Business Operations: Serve as the primary authoritative resource for the division on routine operational matters, policies, and procedures related to business operations.
- Workforce Management: Collaborate with the Office of Human Resources and the University Budget Office to support workforce management and compliance requirements.
- Managerial and Supervisory Leadership: Provide oversight and leadership to operational activities, including procurement, accounts payable, accounting, travel, and contingent contracts.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Experience: Seven years of progressively responsible experience working with budgets, financial modeling, workforce/position management, operational management, strategic planning, and forecasting.
- Supervisory Experience: Three years of supervisory experience.
- Skills: Strong leadership, supervisory, and consensus-building skills; ability to develop and manage budgets and adapt to changes in resources; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in Higher Education Budgeting: Experience in higher education budgeting is preferred.
- Cloud-Based Financial Software: Experience with cloud-based financial software is preferred.
