About the Role

The University of Miami seeks a distinguished academic leader to serve as the Chair of the Department of Neurology. As a key member of the University's faculty, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the department's strategic planning, research initiatives, and clinical programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the department's research, education, and clinical programs.
  • Lead the department's research initiatives, including the development of new research programs and the expansion of existing ones.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the department's clinical programs, including the development of new clinical services and the expansion of existing ones.
  • Mentor and develop faculty and staff to foster a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Recruit and retain top-tier faculty, researchers, and clinicians to join the department.
  • Provide strategic leadership for the department's education programs, including the development of new educational initiatives and the expansion of existing ones.
  • Collaborate with other departments and institutions to advance the department's research and clinical programs.
Qualifications
  • Board certification in Neurology.
  • Eligibility for licensure in the State of Florida.
  • Appointment at the rank of professor.
  • Distinguished record in research, teaching, clinical care, and administration.
  • Experience in a multi-disciplinary setting.
  • Leadership and management competencies.
  • National recognition in one or more areas of Neurology.
