About the Role

The Columbia Basin Program Director - Indigenous Partnerships will be a key member of the Tribal College Journal team, responsible for developing and implementing strategies to support Indigenous nations, communities, and organizations in the Columbia Basin. This role will require strong relationship-building skills, cultural knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with Tribal nations, Indigenous communities, and a wide range of partners to advance conservation and public policy solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to support Indigenous nations, communities, and organizations in the Columbia Basin
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Tribal nations, Indigenous communities, and partners
  • Collaborate with government relations, conservation, and other staff to advance conservation and public policy solutions
  • Supervise staff and negotiate complex agreements and partnerships
  • Work with the Oregon State Director and multi-state Steering Committee to lead the Columbia Basin Program
Requirements
  • Passion for elevating the voices, choices, and actions of Tribal Nations, Indigenous communities, and organizations in conservation and salmon recovery
  • Strong relationship-building skills and cultural knowledge
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to find mutually beneficial solutions
  • Experience working with Indigenous nations, communities, and organizations
  • Strong communication and project management skills
