About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to join our team at Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center in Martinez. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric nursing care services to patients under the supervision of a staff Psychiatrist or Registered Nurse.
  • Assist in facilitating patient therapy in group or family sessions.
  • Administer medication under medical supervision.
  • Utilize verbal and physical techniques to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment during crisis intervention services.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment and discharge plans.
Requirements
  • Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the State of California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate issued by the American Heart Association or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification issued by the American Red Cross.
  • Ability to pass a Pharmacology Test administered by the County.
  • Obtain certification in Professional Assault Response Training (PART) within the first 6 months of employment.
  • Must be available for assignment to Code 2000 by completion of probationary period.
