Job Title: Psychiatric Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to join our team at Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center in Martinez. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychiatric nursing care services to patients under the supervision of a staff Psychiatrist or Registered Nurse.
  • Assist in facilitating patient therapy in group or family sessions.
  • Administer medication under medical supervision.
  • Utilize verbal and physical techniques to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment during crisis intervention services.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment and discharge plans.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the State of California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate issued by the American Heart Association or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification issued by the American Red Cross.
  • Ability to pass a Pharmacology Test administered by the County.
  • Ability to obtain certification in Professional Assault Response Training (PART) within the first 6 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or Master's degree in a relevant healthcare field.
  • Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Experience in an acute care or subacute care setting as an LVN or Psych tech.

Work Environment:

Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center in Martinez.

Shift Availability:

Days, P.M., Nights, All.

Employment Type:

Permanent Full-Time Position.

Benefits:

Regularly scheduled 40 hours per week with full fringe benefits.
