Job Title: Electrical Technician

Location: Fremont, CA

Duration: Contract role

Job Overview:

The selected candidate will execute a range of intricate technical tasks on production and development apparatus for the semiconductor sector and related fields, working with minimal oversight. Responsibilities include diagnosing complex electrical, software, and control systems both on the production floor and at client locations, with some travel required within North America.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble sophisticated electrical systems, including panel layouts, cabling, and wiring according to schematics.
  • Construct intricate mechanical assemblies, utilizing tools for drilling and tapping, and interpreting mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Initiate machine operations during assembly and startup phases, including I/O checks and troubleshooting of electrical, software, and control system issues.
  • Conduct precision alignments and calibrations of subsystems and complete systems.
  • Diagnose PLC, motion control, and I/O subsystems employing PC-based software, diagnostic instruments, and measurement tools.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to address concerns related to bills of materials, schematics, software, and control systems.
  • Execute final qualification testing of subsystems and overall systems.
  • Travel to client sites for the installation of new equipment and to resolve electrical, software, and control system challenges with existing equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in prototyping within a production environment.
  • Over 5 years of experience as an electromechanical technician.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in both electrical and mechanical domains.
  • Proficient in interpreting electrical and mechanical CAD drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a dynamic team setting.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to ensure timely project completion.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering teamwork.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a willingness to work overtime as needed.

Preferred Skills and Training:

  • Associate degree in electronics, industrial technology, or mechanical fields is preferred.
  • Experience in writing or debugging PLC ladder logic.
  • Technical training as a military electrician.
