Electrical Engineer 3 Job Description

Lam Research is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer 3 to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer 3, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex electrical systems, sub-systems, and solutions, applying engineering methods to design.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems, sub-systems, and solutions, applying engineering methods to design.
  • Contribute to research and development efforts by collecting and analyzing data to inform and improve electrical system designs.
  • Exhibit sound judgment in developing functional specifications for electrical/electro-mechanical systems and power distribution components.
  • Collaborate with engineering design teams to design and modify custom and OEM system components, fostering a cross-functional approach to innovation.
  • Hands-on test and validation utilizing lab equipment to characterize the performance of electrical/electro-mechanical systems.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, analysis, and results to a diverse audience in design reviews.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of related experience; or Master's degree with 3+ years' experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Hands-on experience in electronic circuit design (analog, digital), development, and associated electrical board design, troubleshooting, and validation.
  • Understanding of AC/DC Power distribution systems.
  • System level understanding of Electrical architecture, system integration, and applications.
  • Working knowledge in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and low-voltage circuit design for power and control applications.
  • Expertise in application of power and controls technologies for systems automation.
  • Knowledgeable in CAD tools for circuit design and simulation (e.g., PCAD, ORCAD, ZUKEN, AutoCAD, Spice, ADS, HFSS).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to define functional requirements and execute in a dynamic team environment.
  • Familiar with design for serviceability, manufacturability, reliability.
  • Proficient at troubleshooting systems with tools like network sniffers, protocol analyzers, and tool logs.
  • Experience in troubleshooting with problem-solving techniques such as 5-why, 8D, fishbones, etc.
  • Experience in semiconductor industry or related (industrial, automotive, military).
