Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and gathering pertinent health information.
- Monitor and complete Clinical Integration/Quality Improvement measures, notifying clinicians of opportunities within their scope.
- Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and standard precautions/infection control guidelines.
- Assist physicians/advanced practice clinicians with procedures, administer routine medications, and follow through with necessary requests.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure smooth clinic flow.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 45 days.
- GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems.
This role requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, climbing, and reaching above shoulders throughout the workday. Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance. Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills.
