Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Restoration Ecologist/Natural Resource Specialist with a strong background in habitat restoration to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of hands-on experience in restoring and managing large-scale habitat restoration projects and hold a bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute restoration plans for various ecosystems, including wetlands, forests, grasslands, and riparian zones.
  • Conduct field assessments to determine site conditions, restoration needs, and potential challenges.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including landowners, government agencies, and community groups, to ensure project success.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master's degree a plus).
  • 2-5+ years of Habitat Restoration experience- ideally in Southern California specifically- preferred.
  • A background in environmental permitting a plus (CEQA, NEPA, ITPs, LSAA, NWP).
  • Strong knowledge of Southern California native plant species, ecological principles, and restoration techniques.
  • Proficiency in using GIS and other mapping tools for project planning and monitoring a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work in various outdoor conditions, including remote or challenging environments.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as required.
