Job Summary

This position is responsible for the coordination of anesthesia services within the hospital and ambulatory settings. Works under the supervision of the Chief CRNA and provides additional support to maintain benchmark patient access throughout the service line.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Ensures timely and efficient patient access.
  2. Responsible for ensuring patients receive benchmark customer service, identifying and making recommendations to the practice manager on the operational process of the front desk and clinical roles to achieve operational goals.
  3. Assists with the scheduling of patients for surgery and procedures in the hospital and ambulatory settings.
  4. Responsible to ensure that all anesthesia charts are completed with the necessary documentation needed to be sent for processing and billing.
  5. Works in conjunction with Chief CRNA and other clinical leadership to support the provider and clinical staff within scope of practice.
  6. Greets visitors, employees, patients, etc. and answers incoming phone calls professionally, courteously, and competently to ensure that needs are met.
  7. Coordinates, sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  8. Notifies all applicable disciplines such as other surgeons, vendors of pending procedures.
  9. Responsible for daily calendar of provider(s).
  10. Provides high level administrative support to ensure that operations are maintained in an effective, up-to-date and accurate manner.
  11. Documents employee interactions and resolves patient and staff issues.
  12. Oversees ordering and maintenance of office supplies for service line.
  13. Assists in the development and oversight of the office budget.
  14. Contacts Chief CRNA and/or other clinical leadership as appropriate for special situations as they arise.
  15. Demonstrates knowledge of and supports hospital mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality statements, corporate compliance plan, customer service standards, and the code of ethical behavior.

Job SpecificationsEducation
  1. Associate's degree is required or a high school graduate with equivalent applicable college coursework, seminars or work experience in management and supervision.
  2. Bachelor's degree is preferred in relevant field (Management, Healthcare Administration, etc.).
Experience
  1. Minimum one year medical or administrative office experience.
  2. Reception or Cross-Trained Medical Assisting duties required.
  3. Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Essential Physical Abilities/Motor Skills
  1. Able to travel independently throughout all Memorial Healthcare facilities.
  2. Small motor skills required for operating modern computer, office, and telephone equipment as utilized by Memorial Healthcare (MHC).
  3. Sufficient strength and stability to perform passive, active or resistive exercises.
Essential Technical Abilities
  1. Proficiency using modern office, computer and telephone equipment as used by Memorial Healthcare.
  2. Ability to perform manual therapy techniques and operate treatment/assessment equipment.
  3. Fine motor skills to apply taping, braces, etc.
Essential Mental Abilities
  1. Ability to adapt and maintain focus in fast paced, quickly changing or stressful situations.
  2. Ability to read and interpret a variety of documents including, but not limited to policies, operating instructions, white papers, regulations, rules and laws.
  3. Ability to interpret assessment results, follow developed treatment plan, and evaluate patient's response to treatment.
Essential Sensory Requirements
  1. Able to see for the purpose of reading information received in formats, including but not limited to paper, computer, reports, bulletins, updates and manuals.
  2. Able to see and hear for work-related purposes.
  3. Ability to visually and auditory monitor treatment and patient's response to treatment.

  1. Ability to interact with co-workers, hospital staff, administration, patients, physicians, the public and all internal and external customers in a professional and effective, courteous and tactful manner, at all times, physically, verbally and in all written and electronic communication.
