Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Wildlife Management Specialist. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong background in wildlife management, conservation, and ecology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive wildlife management plans for private landowners and public agencies.
  • Conduct fieldwork, including habitat assessments, species surveys, and data collection.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including landowners, hunters, and conservation groups, to promote wildlife conservation and management.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to landowners and other stakeholders on wildlife management practices.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal agencies to promote collaborative conservation efforts.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in wildlife management and conservation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Wildlife Science, Wildlife Management, Ecology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in wildlife management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of wildlife ecology, behavior, and management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Wildlife Science, Wildlife Management, Ecology, or a related field.
  • Experience with habitat restoration and conservation.
  • Knowledge of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department policies and procedures.
  • Fluency in Spanish or other languages spoken in the region.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. The successful candidate will be required to work independently and as part of a team, and will be expected to travel regularly to meet with stakeholders and conduct fieldwork.
