Job Description

As a Paralegal/Legal Assistant III, you will assist attorneys in reviewing case material, gathering and analyzing case material, and preparing a digest of selected decisions/opinions. You will also receive, examine, and evaluate new and complex cases, and assist in determining probable cause by reviewing investigative reports and planning a comprehensive approach to obtaining evidence and information.

You will investigate facts and laws of cases, search public records and other resources, and prepare cases and determine causes of action. You will also assist attorneys in pretrial preparations, prepare legal pleadings, motions, papers, and proposed orders, and organize and manage files, documents, and indexing exhibits.

You will summarize documents and proceedings, including depositions, interrogatories, and testimony, and use various databases and programs to extrapolate data for reports, charts, graphs, and trial exhibits. You will also provide training to other personnel as needed.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a Paralegal Certificate with at least one-year paralegal/legal assistance experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with at least three-years' paralegal experience. You must also have one-year of automated litigation support experience, knowledge of forfeiture law, policies, and procedures, and trial experience.

You must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including legal writing skills. You must also have strong organizational and prioritization skills, experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications, and a proven commitment to providing excellent customer service.
