POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Human Resources Generalist plays a pivotal role in aligning the objectives of the business unit with the overarching goals of Mahle Inc. This position is instrumental in consulting and advising management on various human resources matters, including employee relations, compensation structures, performance management, and training initiatives for both employees and management. Acting as a resource and advisor, this role supports all employee levels effectively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Champion employee advocacy while establishing a reputation as a neutral and approachable HR professional across all employee tiers.
- Offer expert guidance to managers and employees on company policies, performance management strategies, training and development opportunities, employee relations, compensation frameworks, benefits, recruitment processes, organizational changes, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Support employees and managers with various organizational programs, including performance management (annual goal setting and evaluations), training and development, succession planning, salary reviews, and immigration matters.
- Oversee or assist the recruitment team in sourcing candidates for both management and non-management roles, including job advertisement placements, conducting interviews, and performing background checks.
- Conduct thorough employee investigations and exit interviews, document employee relations concerns, recommend actionable solutions, and provide counseling to employees.
- Administer and uphold company policies and procedures to ensure uniformity. Contribute to the development of HR policies and programs that foster positive employee relations.
- Assist in the communication and implementation of strategies for changes in company policies and procedures.
- Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding processes.
- Address employee inquiries regarding benefits programs and leave of absence policies (including FMLA, short-term and long-term disability, military leave, etc.).
- Maintain the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and training database records, generate reports, and perform payroll activities as required.
- Manage workers' compensation claims, ensuring compliance with legal obligations, facilitating appropriate treatments, and coordinating assignments for a prompt return to work.
- Stay informed about legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions, ensuring compliance in policies, procedures, and reporting.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant TS-16949 and ISO-14001 policies and procedures.
- Maintain key HR metrics to support organizational objectives.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- A minimum of 6 years of pertinent experience is required.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve issues, work within deadlines with meticulous attention to detail, and operate independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong business acumen with the capability to influence and cultivate robust working relationships with all employee levels, including HR colleagues and senior management.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations effectively.
- Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws is essential.
- Advanced proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office.
- Experience with HRIS is required; familiarity with SAP is preferred.
