About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Propulsion Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Energetics and Propulsion Department, you will be responsible for the design and development of solid propulsion systems for missile and space vehicle applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced technologies and scientific principles to the systems integration of propulsion, thrusters, controllers, software, mechanical and electrical interfaces for integration into missile systems and space vehicles.
  • Review manufacturing processes and problem resolution, working directly with subcontractors on the design and manufacturing of solid rocket motor propulsion systems.
  • Collaborate with program management in long-range program planning concerning new or projected areas of technological research and advancements.
  • Manage propulsion system development projects and propulsion subcontracts, reviewing and disposition subcontract data and change requests.
  • Oversee supplier operations and ensure compliance with company standards.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in propulsion technology and its application to solid propulsion systems, or three years with an advanced degree and related experience.
  • Education: MS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related science degree.
  • Project engineering skills and experience using Earned Value Management System.
  • Demonstrated success as a proposal/cost account manager as well as project/team leader.
  • Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance (Department of Defense).
