Senior Accounting Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Viking Engineering. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing and reviewing journal entries and accruals, and supporting the team with financial analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including the preparation and review of journal entries and accruals
- Update supporting financial schedules and reconcile to general ledger
- Reconcile all bank accounts
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting processes
- Monitor checking account activity on a daily basis
- Process daily deposits
- Reconcile American Express payments
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Address any exceptions
- BS/BA in accounting or equivalent experience
- 3-7 years of related experience
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
- Effective communication with all levels both inside and outside the company
- Knowledge of sales and use tax
- Expert at Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Epicor/Kinetic experience preferred, but not required
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/LocationThis is a full-time exempt position. Schedule is standard business hours and reflects industry standards for professional accounting staff, and as such, there will be additional hours required during periods of month-end and year-end close.
The position is based in Viking's main office location. This is not a hybrid or remote position.
