Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Transportation Planner to lead or significantly contribute to larger, more complex planning assignments. As a key member of our team, you will spearhead project assignments, manage day-to-day tasks, and coordinate with clients. This role requires advanced independence and judgment, with general supervision from senior management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced professional work related to various planning assignments.
  • Assume client relations for some planning studies.
  • Assume Assistant Project Manager role - staffing, scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop transportation plans, studies, and analyses on local and regional levels.
  • Conduct research and prepare statistical reports on land use, physical, social, and economic issues.
  • Schedule and conduct meetings with advisory boards, the public, and elected officials.
  • Represent the organization in communications and conferences.
  • Communicate with Director and Project Managers on a daily basis.
Requirements
  • Six years of professional planning experience, or a master's degree in planning or a related field and four years of professional planning.
  • AICP Certification is preferred.
  • Active membership in a professional practice organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of planning principles, practices, and techniques, including funding.
  • Well-developed knowledge of one or more planning disciplines, such as land use planning/zoning, or transportation planning.
