Job Summary

The Patient Care Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring an exceptional patient experience and supporting the smooth operation of our prosthetics and orthotics medical practice. This dynamic individual will be responsible for greeting and registering patients, maintaining accurate and complete patient records, and providing administrative support to our clinical and technical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to patient inquiries, direct calls to the appropriate personnel, or initiate a triage email for response by clinical staff.
  • Schedule appointments, verify patient demographics, and update insurance information in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records in the EMR, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Initiate documentation requests from physicians and other healthcare providers, ensuring timely inclusion in patient records.
  • Verify patient insurance benefits, communicate payment and billing policies, and collect patient responsibility payments.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients and visitors, adhering to infection control and safety procedures.
  • Provide administrative support to the practice, striving for a paperless work environment and efficient use of technology.
  • Assist in marketing efforts to build relationships with local referral sources.
  • Maintain professional relationships with patients, referral sources, and colleagues, staying up-to-date on product and administrative knowledge through ongoing training and development.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 1-2 years of medical office experience preferred.
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry is a plus.
Work Environment

This role operates in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach/pull with hands and arms, bend, and squat.
