Job Summary

A dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator will ensure the smooth and efficient scheduling of any offsite referrals/diagnostic imaging and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule appointments for Diagnostic Imaging
  • Schedule appointments for Outside Referrals and fax necessary records
  • Schedule appointments for procedures with outside facilities or hospitals
  • Schedule and arrange any peer 2 peer needed for offsite imaging or procedures with providers and clinic MA
  • Follow all outside referral process to meet Quality Measures
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to established protocols
  • Collaborate with the imaging department staff to optimize patient flow and ensure timely completion of appointments
  • Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information
  • Communicates with all appropriate parties regarding patient and procedure
  • Follows-up and ensures all documentation is obtained
  • Verifies if all authorizations have been obtained prior to scheduling procedures
  • Inform and provide patient with necessary information and instructions prior to procedure date
  • Provide high quality support by phone, email, and other written communications
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in scheduling or administrative roles, is desirable
  • Familiarity with diagnostic imaging procedures and terminology is a plus
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, physicians, and staff members
  • Proficiency in computer systems and medical scheduling software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently by guiding oneself with little or no supervision and depending one oneself to get things done
  • Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
  • Ability to communicate professionally with patients
