Job Summary

The Patient Care Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring an exceptional patient experience and supporting the smooth operation of our prosthetics and orthotics medical practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and register patients, ensuring accurate and complete documentation.
  • Support clinical and technical staff in maintaining patient records and facilitating communication.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and referral sources in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Obtain and scan relevant documentation, including insurance cards and identification.
  • Initiate documentation requests from physicians and healthcare providers, ensuring timely inclusion in patient records.
  • Verify patient insurance benefits and collect payments, adhering to company policies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control and safety procedures.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and patient care areas, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience.
  • Provide administrative support to the practice, striving for a paperless work environment and full utilization of technology-based processes.
  • Assist in marketing efforts to build relationships with local referral sources.
  • Maintain professional relationships with patients, referral sources, and colleagues, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 1-2 years of medical office experience preferred.
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry is a plus.
Work Environment

This role operates in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment and technology.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, frequently standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching/pulling with hands and arms.
