Position Title: Clinical Laboratory Specialist

Overview:

We are in search of a proficient Clinical Laboratory Specialist to execute diagnostic evaluations as directed by healthcare providers, under the supervision of the Clinical Director.

This position necessitates expertise aligned with the individual's educational background, training, and experience, which includes maintaining laboratory equipment, conducting quality assessments, and managing workloads effectively.

Responsibilities may also encompass guiding laboratory personnel and students, subject to the laboratory director's approval.

Core Responsibilities:
1. Cultivate a constructive departmental atmosphere through effective leadership.
2. Remain updated with industry innovations and integrate new methodologies.
3. Perform venipuncture across diverse patient demographics to guarantee specimen integrity.
4. Execute accurate testing in assigned departments and resolve issues as required.
5. Comply with standard operating procedures for quality assurance, document corrective measures, and make informed decisions regarding patient outcomes.
6. Process proficiency samples, document critical values, and uphold confidentiality in result dissemination.
7. Engage in competency evaluations and participate in professional growth activities.
8. Maintain certification, attend educational sessions, and contribute to departmental meetings.
9. Mentor new staff or students as designated.
10. Utilize computer and laboratory information systems proficiently.
11. Collaborate effectively with patients, visitors, and colleagues from various backgrounds.
12. Support the mission of the Medical Center and ensure consistent attendance.
13. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Registered Clinical Laboratory Specialist with valid credentials (ASCP, NCAMLP, AMT, ASMT, or equivalent) or eligibility within six months.
- Proficient in operating laboratory instruments and interpreting diagnostic results.
- Strong communication abilities with patients, medical personnel, and stakeholders.
- Capacity to accommodate patients of all ages and comprehend their distinct needs.
- Familiarity with laboratory protocols and procedures.
- Self-driven with the capability to work within established frameworks.
