Job Overview

OBJECTIVE:

Under the supervision of the Finance & Accounting Director, this role is tasked with managing all facets of Accounts Receivable. The individual will support the accounting manager and team members during month-end closing and other accounting functions as required.


Key Responsibilities: The following duties are essential to this position. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Comprehensive management of Accounts Receivable:
  • Daily processing of invoices and reconciliation of cash transactions.
  • Recording of receivables: Wires, ACH, Farm Plan, Checks, and Credit Card Payments.
  • Generating weekly sales representative reports, overseeing aging reports, and conducting collection calls.
  • Reviewing and approving daily sales invoices for overdue accounts.
  • Preparing monthly statements.
  • Troubleshooting errors and performing daily balancing corrections.
  • Overseeing and collecting overdue receivables.
  • Analyzing trends in Accounts Receivable.
  • Assisting the department with various tasks as necessary.
  • Fostering a positive work environment by demonstrating initiative, respect for colleagues, and teamwork. Adhering to company policies and procedures, and communicating effectively to enable others to perform their roles efficiently. Maintaining professionalism and treating customers with respect and appreciation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this position, the candidate must satisfactorily fulfill each responsibility. Key attributes include enthusiasm, initiative, reliability, creativity, leadership, teamwork, confidentiality, and a personable demeanor. Strong organizational and communication skills are critical.

  • A high school diploma is required; an accounting degree and/or three years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Experience in the collection of overdue receivables.
  • Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and volumes.
  • Capability to read, write, analyze, and interpret financial documents and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, colleagues, customers, and vendors.
  • Capacity to maintain focus for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment, prioritizing teamwork.
  • Skill in prioritizing and managing multiple projects, working independently, and performing under pressure.
  • A positive attitude, self-motivation, and professionalism are essential.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • The position is based at the corporate office.
