Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Geospatial Data Specialist to join our team at AHU Technologies Inc. As a key member of our GIS team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining geospatial data, products, and services across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online suite, including Instant Apps, Dashboards, Experience Builder, Survey123, StoryMaps, and Hub. You will work closely with departments to meet data requirements, ensure data quality and accuracy, and utilize platforms like Esri ArcGIS to create accessible maps, applications, and visualizations.

A strong understanding of geospatial science and GIS principles is essential, as well as experience in producing high-quality geospatial data, products, and services. Additionally, you should have expertise in enterprise-level geospatial relational data and relational databases, including database queries and relational database design.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a larger team. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage DC GIS Products and Services (Data, Maps, Reports, and No Code/Low Code Applications) throughout Product Lifecycle (Creation, Implementation, Updates, Usage, Quality Management (QA/QC), and Archival)
  • Update and Maintain Metadata to support Data Standards and the development of Generative AI Assistance
  • Create, update, and integrate existing or new GIS data layers using a variety of software
  • Coordinate with other technicians and analysts in various projects that have a geospatial component
Requirements
  • Extensive understanding and knowledge of Geospatial Science, and GIS principles as they relate to maintenance of Geospatial Data, Products, and Service. Required 6 Years
  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online suite, including Instant Apps, Dashboards, Experience Builder, Survey123, StoryMaps, and Hub. Required 6 Years
  • Experience in producing high-quality Geospatial Data, Products, and Services. Required 6 Years
  • Experience with Enterprise level Geospatial Relational Data, and Relational Databases including Database Queries and Relational Database Design. Required 6 Years
  • Experience creating and maintaining Metadata for Geospatial Data, Products, and Services. Required 6 Years
  • Experience with Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) of data products. Required 6 Years
  • Experience with creating effective and aesthetically pleasing cartographic outputs. Required 6 Years
  • Ability to achieve results under limited direction. Required 6 Years
  • Ability to complete project tasks individually or as part of a larger team. Required 6 Years
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Required 6 Years
  • Skills in Programming and scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript. Highly desired 3 Years
  • Client-facing experience. Highly desired 3 Years
  • Interest in learning new tools and technologies. Highly desired 3 Years
  • Inventive mindset, with a desire to propose new tools and methods for improving business processes. Highly desired 3 Years
  • Certified GIS Professional (GISP). Nice to have
  • 16+ yrs. managing complex geodatabases with ESRI GIS software. Required 16 Years
  • 16+ yrs. manipulating geospatial data (data conversion and geocoding). Required 16 Years
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience. Required

$120,000 - $150,000 per year
