About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Materials Engineer to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our research and development team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing various components of our product in preparation for market launch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complex experiments and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Support research and development projects and contribute to the overall success of our product launch.
  • Perform a variety of chemical analyses, experiments, and tests, including preparing samples, operating laboratory equipment, and recording data accurately.
  • Ensure that designs are optimized for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and performance.
  • Test new designs to validate performance, functionality, and reliability.
  • Continuously improve processes and recommend and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment and ensure all laboratory equipment is properly calibrated and functioning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with instruments or equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Accurately record, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Monitor and verify the quality of laboratory results through rigorous testing and validation procedures.
  • Collaborate with other members of the research and development team, including members in Baltimore and New Delhi.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on laboratory experience in materials science and chemistry.
  • Bachelor's degree required in Materials Science, Chemistry, or related discipline; Master's or PhD preferred.
  • Proficient in using laboratory equipment such as spectrophotometers, titrators, and other analytical instruments.
  • Expertise with Raman Spectroscopy.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical safety protocols and laboratory best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and produce accurate, reliable results.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and effectively present data to colleagues and management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and support the growth of fellow team members.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
