Primary Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Conduct diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients, ensuring the production of clear and accurate images for medical interpretation.
- Prepare and calibrate ultrasound equipment, adjusting settings as necessary to optimize image quality.
- Adhere to safety protocols and perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment.
- Execute both standard and advanced imaging procedures, assisting in various diagnostic tasks.
- Identify and document significant anatomical structures, artifacts, and any limitations encountered during imaging.
- Ensure the proper functioning of all equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Submit high-quality images and patient documentation to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized imaging environment, including procedure rooms and storage areas.
- Comply with all regulatory standards and guidelines.
Qualifications
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Current BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- One of the following credentials is required within 6 months of hire:
- Cardiographic Technician with Vascular Interpretation from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Radiologic Technologist with Sonography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Medical Sonographer credentialed by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Education:
- High school diploma or GED with 2 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree, or a technical certificate/degree.
