Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Ascension Seton. As a Sonography Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our imaging department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic procedures using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation.
  • Set up and adjust equipment, manually maneuver transducers, and implement safety standards to ensure quality control procedures.
  • Perform routine and complex studies, assist in various imaging procedures, and recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning, report potential problems, and lock/tag out equipment if necessary.
  • Submit high-quality images and documents to PACS, ensuring correct lead markers and patient data/history.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and film storage areas.
  • Comply with regulatory agencies and maintain licensure/certification/registration requirements.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following certifications: Cardiographic Tech specializing in Vascular Interpretation, Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography, or Medical Sonographer.
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical certificate/degree required.
