Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Actalent. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting and processing blood samples from patients, ensuring accurate and efficient specimen handling and processing.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and store specimens according to established procedures and protocols.
- Clearly explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections to patients.
- Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required.
- Check test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperatures.
- Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
- Attend annual department trainings and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
- Straight needle experience.
- Processing experience.
