Job Summary

The Cloud Operations Engineer at Stifel is responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing cloud-based infrastructure, applications, and services. This role ensures the smooth functioning of cloud environments by handling tasks such as resource provisioning, configuration management, deployment, automation, and incident response.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement standardized offerings to facilitate the successful deployment of stacks, including continuous build, test, integration, and deployment of platforms and pipelines.
  • Automate testing frameworks for applications and infrastructure, and implement standardized offerings to ensure the operational health of stacks, including metrics collection, aggregation, and visualization, log collection, aggregation, and correlation, event management and routing, inventory, capacity, and billing/tag management, and clean up and decommissioning of unused or uncompliant resources.
  • Deploy complex infrastructure, configure, manage, and troubleshoot systems of scale, and develop, track, and leverage performance metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Pair with application teams to implement continuous testing and delivery practices, standard practices that ensure operational health and excellence, and implement Cloud team products and legacy applications that do not operate in a full-stack operating model.
  • Lead the collection of metrics and generation of relevant reporting mechanisms, and drive continuous delivery and full-stack operations communities of practices across the Cloud Enablement Team.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience with scripting and automation tools.
  • Solid foundation in IT infrastructure, networking, and cloud technologies.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of automation tools.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in deploying, managing, and monitoring cloud infrastructure.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Minimum Required: 3+ years of experience working with a public cloud infrastructure.

Licenses and Credentials

  • AWS Certifications (Architect, SysOps, DevOps) is preferred.

Systems and Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Python, Java, C++, or Ruby.
  • Experience with SQL.
