Cloud Security Engineer Opportunity

Vaco is seeking a skilled AWS Cloud Security Engineer to join our client's team in Memphis. This is a direct-hire position with a highly respected national organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain security measures within an AWS environment.
  • Identify and resolve security issues across cloud infrastructure, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and systems.
  • Build, deploy, and manage security tools and services to safeguard cloud environments.
  • Maintain a reliable, low-touch, and user-friendly cloud infrastructure that supports security and operational requirements.
  • Evaluate and respond to alerts and events from security tools, tuning configurations to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy.
  • Develop comprehensive event response documentation and processes, including system environment diagrams and cloud operations security tools.
  • Collaborate with leadership, architects, engineering teams, vendors, and compliance officers to execute and refine security strategies.
  • Assess current cloud security measures and best practices, proposing improvements or solutions to enhance overall security posture.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with cloud infrastructure, preferably within AWS.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for change management and automated security testing.
  • Proficiency in deploying and customizing security tools such as vulnerability scanners, static analyzers, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security monitoring.
  • Experience developing software with object-oriented languages like Python, Java, C++, or Ruby.
  • Ability to write SQL queries and create dashboards and reports.
  • Extremely strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • NIST or ISO Certification is preferred.
