Job Summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory seeks a highly skilled and experienced Director of Gift and Estate Planning to join our team. This key role will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, securing, and stewarding individual prospects and donors, targeting planned gifts for The Salvation Army.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect Management: Develop and implement strategies to manage a portfolio of approximately planned giving donors and prospects, including developing solicitation plans, building relationships, and completing significant contacts.
  • Cultivation and Solicitation: Develop and write donor cultivation materials, acknowledgements, and reports, as well as produce personalized planned giving proposals for individual support.
  • Collaboration and Strategy: Work with senior staff, leadership, and volunteers to identify, qualify, and research new planned gift prospects, and coordinate strategies for cultivating and soliciting donors.
  • Reporting and Budgeting: Prepare and submit statistics, reports, and budget information to the Senior Director of Philanthropy as requested.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree required, with a minimum of five years' experience in fundraising, financial sales, insurance sales, estate and financial planning, or related areas.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well with a variety of people, self-directed and proactive, able to manage confidential information, detail-oriented, and proficient in Microsoft Windows and email applications.
Working Conditions

The majority of work activities will be performed in an office setting, with frequent local travel to visit donors, prospective donors, and other relevant contacts in the community.
