Position: Aircraft Systems Design and Integration Engineer

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio

Are you an experienced avionics technician looking to transition into an engineering role? We have an exciting opportunity for you We are seeking a highly qualified Aircraft Systems Design and Integration Engineer who will serve as a vital link between our avionics technicians and engineering teams. This role is essential for developing the highest quality integration packages in the aviation industry. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Incentive: Potential sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 for eligible candidates after 180 days of employment.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, integration, and implementation of electrical and avionics systems across various aircraft.
  • Conduct evaluations of new technologies and perform comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Enhance the design of aerospace systems through innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with a network of aerospace engineers and customer representatives.
  • Coordinate testing procedures for aerospace systems to ensure compliance and performance.
  • Generate detailed System Requirement Documents to guide project development.
  • Address real-world challenges with effective problem-solving strategies.
  • Maintain thorough documentation for each project undertaken.
  • Create integration drawings and designs for FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DER) approval.
  • Monitor the status of assigned aircraft programs and proactively communicate any potential delays.
  • Facilitate the acquisition of necessary parts and manage maintenance requirements during irregular operations.
  • Keep the Program Manager informed with regular status updates on ongoing projects.
  • Foster a professional environment by addressing team dynamics and motivating colleagues.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures diligently.
  • Prepare various written communications and reports related to work performed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in avionics within commercial and business aviation.
  • Possession of A&P or AET License/Certification with current expertise in avionics systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Systems, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficient in computer applications including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Office.
  • Ability to pass and maintain DOT Drug Testing requirements.
  • Valid passport and driver's license required.
  • Successful completion of a 10-year background check.
Essential Skills:
  • Strong technical background in avionics, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft avionics functionality and integration.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering design principles and methodologies.
  • Experience in change and configuration management processes.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving collective success.
  • Flexibility to work in a hybrid office/home environment.
  • Attention to detail and a supportive approach to team dynamics.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice for project support.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to read and interpret technical documents.
  • Capability to support remote modifications with travel and on-site expertise.
  • Professional communication skills, with a focus on motivation and tact.
