Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer to join our team at GE Aviation. As a key member of our Commercial Engine Project & Engineering team, you will play a critical role in the development and execution of advanced engine demonstrator programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Systems Integration: Own the integration of Aero Thermal & Controls systems, coordinating across global engineering discipline teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Program Management: Develop and manage cross-functional, technology-led programs, managing interfaces with contractors, suppliers, customers, and internal functions.
  • Technical Leadership: Use your expertise to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, technology, Aero Thermal & Controls, or engineering.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience, lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements, and explain difficult or sensitive information to build consensus.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Develop specialized knowledge in your discipline, serving as a best practice/quality resource and contributing to strategy and policy development.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Contribute to Weekly Operating Rhythm (WOR) and Monthly Operating Rhythm (MOR) metrics from multiple internal and external customer inputs.
  • Cultural Transformation: Coach, drive, and lead lean behaviors, principles, and tools across an operational or functional area, driving cultural transformation resulting in step-change in operational business metrics.
  • Representation: Represent the program in front of both internal and external customers, requiring strong communication, presentation, and interface skills to ensure accurate reception of messaging and status.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering within at least one discipline: Turbo Machinery Aero Dynamics, Thermal Systems, Controls & Engine Performance.
  • Desired Qualifications: Master's degree, experience in two or more disciplines, and a strong passion for propulsion and sustainability.
