Position Overview:

The Assistant Manager position is a full-time role that operates on an hourly basis, tailored to the business's needs. As a key holder, the Assistant Manager acts as the manager on duty (MOD) when the Store Manager is unavailable or when the situation demands it. This role is crucial in supporting the management of an automotive retail service and repair facility, ensuring that service standards are met or exceeded while striving to achieve Tire Warehouse's performance and profitability objectives.

Compensation:

The hourly pay range for this position is between $18.00 and $20.00. Additional compensation and incentives may be available, with pay determined by experience level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate guest appointments to optimize technician capabilities for timely vehicle service and repairs.
  • Support Tire Warehouse's sales targets by effectively communicating and recommending tire and service products, along with current promotions.
  • Address all guest inquiries related to sales, service, complaints, and adjustments.
  • Foster guest relationships to enhance customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.
  • Assist technicians in communicating repair and service requirements to guests.
  • Maintain the store's cleanliness and ensure it meets Tire Warehouse's standards for readiness.
  • Oversee inventory management, including the pulling of tires and parts, as well as unloading and stocking inventory.
  • Provide guidance and support to technicians, assisting with services and repairs as needed.
  • Organize the store's workflow to ensure efficient use of technician skills for effective and timely vehicle services and repairs.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as governmental standards, including environmental codes and safety regulations.
  • Perform Store Manager duties as required by business needs.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two years of retail experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Flexibility to work various hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Preferred: ASE certification and State Inspection License (where applicable).
  • Ability to motivate and influence a team to achieve goals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, along with experience in inventory management and customer service.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with teammates and guests.
  • Completion of all required training in accordance with guidelines.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) to operate customer vehicles for test drives.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • This role operates within an automotive shop environment, which may involve exposure to moderate noise levels, adverse weather, chemicals, and dust.
  • Must be able to see, hear, speak, lift, carry, and stock merchandise and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Frequent standing and walking for extended periods is required.
  • Regular reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, and twisting.
