Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Technician to join our team at Cummins Inc. As a Quality Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Coordinate the introduction of new processes and products, utilizing APQP tools such as FMEA, PPAP, SPC, and MSA.
  • Evaluate, create, update, and control documents, including written and video-based content, through interdepartmental communication.
  • Translate documentation using Microsoft tools and apply basic inspection and testing techniques, including sampling plans and blueprint reading.
  • Perform gauge calibration and gauge R&R, and apply quality tools to interpret information and data.
  • Conduct internal audits to ISO 9001:2015 standards and interact with customers and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Continually improve processes and be willing to travel as needed.
Impact and Responsibilities
  • Support Engineers by assisting in production-related and inspection tasks to ensure smooth operations and high-quality output.
  • Monitor material quality and make necessary adjustments to maintain the integrity of the production process.
  • Keep accurate records and documentation to support traceability and compliance with industry standards.
  • Identify and address defects early to reduce waste and improve product quality.
  • Conduct simple tests and prepare technical reports to provide valuable data for decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Use and program measurement equipment to enhance the precision and reliability of product testing.
  • Assist customers in understanding product specifications and measurement data to improve customer satisfaction and product application.
  • Maintain equipment in optimal condition to support accurate and reliable measurements.

Education and Experience

We prefer an associate degree and significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

Additional qualifications include ASQ or similar organization certification, five years of quality work experience, and outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

We also prefer basic knowledge of APQP and Statistical Process Control (SPC), knowledge of the ISO 9001/IATF 16949 standards, and demonstrated experience collaborating with teams and leading others.
