Key Responsibilities- Provide legal counsel and support to college administrators, faculty, and staff on a wide range of legal matters, including contracts, employment law, student rights, and administrative law.
- Review and prepare responses to legal issues and items that may impact the college, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, rules, and guidelines.
- Represent the college in legal proceedings and negotiations, advocating for the college's interests and positions.
- Collaborate with college administrators to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Provide guidance on contract negotiation and preparation, as well as dispute resolution and contract interpretation.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and court decisions, and provide training and guidance to college staff on legal matters.
- J.D. or LL.B. from an ABA/AALS accredited law school.
- Current Florida Bar membership in good standing.
- Knowledge of law pertaining to educational institutions, particularly in areas such as public agency contracts, non-profit corporation law, employment law, student rights, and administrative law.
- Governmental relations experience is a plus.
