Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal counsel and support to college administrators, faculty, and staff on a wide range of legal matters, including contracts, employment law, student rights, and administrative law.

  • Represent the college in legal proceedings and negotiations, advocating for the college's interests and positions.
  • Collaborate with college administrators to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance on contract negotiation and preparation, as well as dispute resolution and contract interpretation.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and court decisions, and provide training and guidance to college staff on legal matters.
Requirements
  • J.D. or LL.B. from an ABA/AALS accredited law school.
  • Current Florida Bar membership in good standing.
  • Knowledge of law pertaining to educational institutions, particularly in areas such as public agency contracts, non-profit corporation law, employment law, student rights, and administrative law.
  • Governmental relations experience is a plus.
