Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is in search of a Senior Principal Project Manager – Cost Optimization (DTC)/ Lifecycle Cost Analysis (LCCE). This role is situated in Roy, UT and is integral to the Sentinel program. This position will be a pivotal component of the Command and Launch (C&L) leadership team, contributing strategically to future planning and positioning within the C&L Segment. The individual in this role will be essential in ensuring the program meets its manufacturing cost and schedule objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

This role entails conducting affordability assessments to support Life Cycle Cost (LCC), Design to Cost (DTC), Cost as an Independent Variable (CAIV), and Cost Reduction Initiative (CRI) efforts. The analytical methodologies employed will include commercial and government parametric models, such as PRICE and SEER, alongside custom-developed parametrics that establish correlations between operational or technical requirements and associated costs.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in developing intricate cost models utilizing advanced estimating techniques, coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills necessary for gathering input, synthesizing data, and effectively communicating findings to various levels of technical and programmatic leadership.

The selected individual will excel in consolidating and presenting financial key performance indicators, managing earned value, summarizing technical and financial progress toward performance targets, and developing and maintaining project schedules while ensuring compliance with US Government CAIV standards.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 9 years of relevant experience or a master's degree with 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Active or Current DoD Secret Clearance (awarded or reinvestigated within the past 5 years) and the ability to obtain SAP program access (background investigation required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading projects and driving performance against established schedules.
  • At least 1 year of experience managing risks, including subcontractor involvement.
  • Active Secret clearance with investigation completed in the last 6 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's in Business (Finance, Accounting, Administration, or similar) from an accredited institution with 13+ years of relevant experience or a Master's of Science in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 13+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with DoD Acquisition University program management certification.
  • Proficiency in developing cost research models and conducting cost risk analyses for complex aerospace systems.
  • Familiarity with cost parametric tools: ACEIT, SEER from Galorath, and PRICE Systems & Analytics.
  • Experience with SEER-H, VBA, and PRICE TruePlanning.
  • Expertise in Cost Data Analysis and Predictive Analytics; knowledge of Tableau & Alteryx.
  • Experience with data visualization software (e.g., MS Excel including macros, Tableau Desktop, QlikView, MS Power BI, etc.) or other data analysis applications.
  • Proficiency in data mining/analytics programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or BA.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office suite of tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across multiple organizational levels.
