Job Summary

Marukai Corp. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Produce Department Associate to join our team. As a key member of our produce team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of fresh produce is available to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stock and unpack produce, maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Set up and maintain the condition of the produce department according to company standards
  • Ensure produce is handled, stocked, rotated, and merchandised to meet customer expectations
  • Process and/or wrap produce items prior to filling designated areas
  • Operate pallet jack, scissor lift, baler, compactor, and scrub machine
  • Maintain cleanliness of the store and store upkeep
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be 18 or older to use sharp knives, use ladders, scaffolds, or their substitutes, substitutes above 6 feet in height, and to operate or assist in operating power-driven machinery or equipment
  • Must be able to use job-related equipment such as slicer, scale, saw, knife, and wrapper
  • No experience required, but a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in a similar work environment is preferred
  • Possess a CA Food Handling license or the ability to acquire one
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without aid
Working Conditions

Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to equipment and work aides necessary to perform job duties. Hands are in frequent contact with water and various fruits and vegetables while performing job duties.
