Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Product Selector to join our team at Earls Organic Produce. As a Product Selector, you will be responsible for selecting and preparing organic produce for our customers. This is a critical role that requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Select and prepare organic produce for customers, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Operate scanning devices and associated software to ensure efficient order selection.
  • Build and palletize orders with caution to prevent damage to products.
  • Examine products to verify quality standards and count finished products to determine order completion.
  • Pallet wrap, mark, and tag identification for palletized merchandise.
  • Operate machinery used in the order picking process or assist machine operators.
  • Load trucks according to Company Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain equipment per Company SOP and perform to 90 pieces per hour minimum average.
  • Maintain 98% accuracy as measured by transaction and perform to all other company standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School degree preferred.
  • Minimum one year of related work experience and preferably knowledge of produce varieties.
  • Excellent communication skills, including reading, writing, and verbally communicating effectively.
  • Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Warehouse Inventory software.
  • Ability to think independently and solve practical problems.

Work Environment

This position is exposed to temperatures varying from 34 to over 70 degrees and humidity levels varying from 80 to 95%. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate but may be high during certain times of the day due to business level. Typical shift schedule: 3:00pm - 11:30pm. Typical hours: 40 per week.
