This role plays a crucial part in REI's success by safeguarding the well-being of our store team and members through a visible presence on REI premises and during events.


Key Responsibilities:
Engage proactively with essential stakeholders across all levels.

Monitor, evaluate, and take necessary actions to ensure the physical security and safety of retail locations and events.

Exhibit a friendly demeanor and maintain a positive attitude towards all members and teams.

Conduct regular patrols in and around retail locations/events, identifying unsafe conditions, hazards, security breaches, and unauthorized individuals.

Observe, verbally de-escalate, and report incidents or suspicious activities to the Asset Protection team and store management. Document narratives, logs, and case reports as required.

Represent REI in legal proceedings when necessary.

Support other market locations with Asset Protection services as needed.

Adhere to REI's policies and procedures, ensuring their implementation throughout the store.

Assist management during emergencies.

Safeguard evidence or the scene of an incident during emergencies and provide guidance or information to others.

Participate in regular training and updates on relevant subjects for the store team.

May develop and/or implement security strategies for special REI events.

Maintain a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with regular attendance required.
