Baptist Health System - San Antonio TX is currently looking for a Surgical Technology Specialist to join our dedicated team in San Antonio, Texas.

Role Summary:

The Surgical Technology Specialist is responsible for delivering both direct and indirect technical support to surgical and obstetric patients throughout various stages of care, ensuring the safe and effective execution of invasive surgical procedures. Adheres to established practices and standards while supporting the mission, policies, and procedures of the Baptist Health System. Completes required competencies for the role within the designated introductory period. Additional related responsibilities may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education: High school diploma and graduation from a Department of Education (DOE) or Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) accredited surgical technology program.

Preferred Education: N/A

Minimum Experience: None required.

Preferred Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Surgical or OB Technologist in an acute care or outpatient setting.

Required Certifications: Baptist Health System accepts certifications from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) or from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); TS-C (Technician in Surgery–Certified).

Preferred Certifications: N/A

Required Courses/Certifications: Must possess active healthcare provider Basic Life Support upon hire (ARC or AHA); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
